The Tribe
Dry Red Wine, Red Blend
Country:
USA
Region:
California
Alcohol:
14.50%
Size:
750ml
The Tribe Proprietary Red is sourced from a single vineyard in Sonoma’s Dry Creek Valley. It is a blend of Syrah, Petite Syrah and Zinfandel all picked together and co-fermented, showing elegant, ripe red fruit flavors highlighted in silky tannins.
This wine has a deep cherry red inn color, this wine shows on the nose notes of ripe strawberries, green notes with bell pepper and tobacco leaves, papaya and dates. After a little while, the green notes recede, leaving room for more berry and tropical fruit to shine through. Medium to full-bodied, with on the palate strawberries, papaya, plumes and spicy wood with medium acidity and soft tannins, with a touch of jalapeno spiciness that rises on the mid-palate throughout the moderately long finish.

THE WINE MAKING
Philip Jones, the owner and winemaker, of wineries in both New Zealand and Washington State has released this wine to celebrate ten years of kosher winemaking. A collaboration between Philip and Mathew Rutherford, Goose Bay consulting winemaker, has resulted in this beautifully crafted red blend. Made at Goose Bays sister winery at Underwood, Washington. This blend was selected to represent the best that the Northwest can offer.
Made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Aged for three years before release it has firm but enjoyable tannins to tickle your palate. Made in a style to enjoy with or without food with just the right amount of fruit flavours without becoming a fruit bomb. Great balance so to stand alongside food without overpowering it. A delicious wine from the beginning throughout its full length. Enjoy!
Aged on French and American oak for 16 months then further aged for three years prior to bottling in mid 2016.

THE WINE MAKING
Once the harvest is complete Vignobles Bouillac can proceed to vinification. For their traditional wines, the vinification is done in stainless steel vats.
Destemming, crushing, pressing and finally comes a period of cold pre-fermentation maceration (4-15 ° C for a few days). The pre-fermentation maceration is a variant of the traditional maceration, it allows to obtain red wines with more intense fruity notes.
They recover the must during fermentation to put it back on the hat, it is the reassembly. They do not do this step very much, so as not to extract a wine with too hard tannins, less pleasant and less fatty.
A too long pumping over or a long fermentation is not the goal, our objective is to obtain wines of a beautiful finesse, all in flexibility with a little sweetness.
TASTING NOTES
->The wine is medium bodied and very well structured with big tannins.
->The finish is fruity, with more of the black fruit that linger in the after taste.
->The earthy and fruity flavors are balanced well, and the unique aromas and flavors of this wine will continue to change as the wine ages in the bottle.
